Caregiving scenario

Your eighty-two-year-old father recently died (God forbid!!). He and your eighty-two year old mom had been living in the same suburban residence for the past twenty-eight years, and now she is alone. You live about twenty miles away, and both you and your spouse have full time jobs and two children at home, ages eleven and fifteen. Your mom is in pretty good physical and mental health but may be a danger to herself in regard to both cooking and driving. She has not expressed a preference in regard to where she lives and seems open to discussing various options with you. As a prospective caregiver, outline some options for your mom. Indicate what you need to know from her in order to optimally assist her.
At 82 years old, I would prefer my mom to live with me and the second option to be in a nursing home.
1.    What questions would you want to ask her?
2.    What community resources would you want to investigate?
3.    How would you monitor her condition from time to time?
4.    What would be some key components of your caregiving plan?
